Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang

The flight from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang takes just an hour, with the descent through the green mountains to Luang Prabang airport and experience to be remembered. Flights are available through Lao Airlines.
From Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang by boat.
For the more adventurous, it is also possible to take the boat to Luang Prabang, also known as the 'slow boat', as it is a 3 day, 2 night trip which explores the Mekong river from Huay Xai (a bus ride from Chiang Mai) to Luang Prabang. It is also possible to take a speed boat on the same route - but we don't recommend it!
