Tee Shot on Hole #17 at Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Course
The tee shot on the 17th involves carrying the ball over the lake in front of the tee off position. The lake is really the least of the worries, with a large bunker running along the right side of the fairway - as the hole bends around to the right. the bunker collects many balls from adventurous players. A further concern is that the lake in front of the green is in reach for big hitters, so it might make sense to take a 3 wood from the tee. The bunker on the left of the fairway will hamper any approach shot.

The approach shot is surely one of the most beautiful sights in golf - beautiful, unless you have to play it! To begin with there is the carry over the small lake, but you also need to navigate the large trees overhanging the green on both sides. Go too far over the green and there is more water, or of course there are bunkers all around the green.
Once on the green you are home free, the green slopes gently from right to left, but isn't too hard to read and putt on.
