Tee Shot on Hole #2 at Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Course
The par 4 second hole can be a real challenge for all levels. The first challenge comes from the tee, with several teeing off positions, you can face a very different challenge each time you play. The hole is a sharp dogleg left and the safe play would be to hit straight towards the lone tree in the middle of the fairway. This route requires you to carry a small lake, and leaves a longer 2nd shot. The temptation, particularly from forward tee positions, is always to cut the corner, over the trees to the left, but the shot is full of risks, with OB or water if you go too far left, and water if you go too long. Picking the right club and line for this shot takes skill as the target area on the fairway is not large.
Approach Shot on Hole #2 at Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Course
Assuming you've avoided all the dangers on the teeshot, the approach shot should be relatively straightforward, with a large green to aim for. There are bunkers long, or to the right, so shots are often left short. The view from the fairway is slightly deceiving as you don't get a good view of how big the green is.
The green is large as it extends between the bunkers and it slopes down away around the edges. There is a gentle right to left slope too, so putting can also be a challenge on this tricky hole.
