Tee Shot on Hole #9 at Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Course
The 9ths at Chiang Mai Lamphun is the signature hole, and rightly so! A good tee shot is needed to open up any hope of a shot to the green, so ideally you want to carry the trees and the bunker down the right hand side of the fairway. The lake on the right of the fairway makes this shot treacherous. The creek crossing the fairway shouldn't come in to play, but if you go too far to the left you will leave yourself either forced to lay up on the approach shot, or in the stream on the left. Big hitters should be wary as they could easily drive through the fairway to where again danger awaits.
Approach Shot on Hole #9 at Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Course
The approach is all about carrying the water in front of the green. The shortest carry will be around 120 yards to the green, but it could be a lot more. There are some bunkers beyond the green in case you take too much club. The green slopes back towards the lake, but there is some rough rough in between which should stop balls with too much backspin. Leaving the ball at the front of the green will leave an easier uphill putt.
Behind the green to the right is the excellent club house.
