The 9th at Gassan Lake City is a challenge for golfers of all abilities - perhaps even the hardest hole in Chiang Mai. Marked as a par 4, many players would consider it a 'bogey hole'. Not only is a long hole, but the water hazard makes it even more challenging.

The tee shot carries a shot lake on the right, before the wide open fairway. While getting on the fairway isn't too big a challenge, the key is to get as far down it as possible, without going into the water at the end (which is in reach for big hitters). A bad tee shot could see you laying up in front of the lake, even a good one will leave a challenging approach.

The approach shot will be at least 180 yards from the tee side of the lake. The fairway narrows as it approaches the narrow green. With bunkers on either side of the approach, any short shot is likely to be in trouble, unless carefully placed on the run up to the green. The green itself is elevated with steep drops on all sides. If you miss this mound, you are likely to be left a very tricky shot to get up and down onto the green. Putting is the simplest part of the hole, but the slope from back to front will add to the challenge.
