Maejo Golf Course is a modern course situated 20 minutes north of Chiang Mai. This 18 hole course opened in 2004 and features many interesting holes and some challenging greens. The designers feature beautiful views of the Doi Suthep mountain range from several elevated tees, as the course meanders through Mango, Longan and Tangarine orchards. The 'Orchard Hole' (#15 - HC 1) is arguably one of the more challenging holes in Chiang Mai.
Features
Key to the design of Maejo golf course is the orchard groves through which it winds. This leads to several holes lined by rows of tropical fruit trees - none more noticeable than the long (par 4) 15th, known as the orchard hole where the Orange trees are prepared to envelop any wayward tee shot. The course offers a variety of natural water hazards, particularly on the front 9. The course is always well maintained, and customers are also well looked after in the clubhouse and facilities. With some narrow fairways and some fast sloping greens, there are plenty of challenges for all levels of players.

An overall top notch golfing experience. The course is always in great shape. Sufficiently challenging for mid-handicappers and the course presents enough trouble for single-digit guys as well. Not as long as a typical championship course. Greens not as fast as they used to be, which means that the groundskeeper can make this course as difficult as they want (especially greens at #5 & #13!). The par 5\'s present unique opportunities on this course, but with extreme risk-reward (witness #16). The staff is excellent and the dining room/restaurant extremely accommodating. They just raised the price recently, but still a good value for local members. A top-three course in Chiang Mai without a doubt.

Definitely my favourite course in Chiang Mai. Friendly staff, and plenty of challenges for all levels of golf. :)
