The Dukes

This week's bar of the week is the Dukes. The Dukes is well established and popular with many farang expats as it is probably most famous for its food - definitely offering farang sized portions. In that sense it is probably more of a restaurant than a bar, but it still offers a nice stopping place for a beer on the banks of the river Ping.

Where is it?

Well, the Dukes is on the bank of the Ping river, not far south down the river from the riverside and good view. Coming from town, cross the iron bridge and you'll see it not far along the bank to your left.

Beyond the restaurant part of the Dukes, it does have a pleasant outdoor seating area at the front, overlooking the river bank. Sadly, unlike the riverside or good view, the road runs in between the bar and the river, so the experience is sometimes interrupted. It is tastefully decorated though, making it trully a pleasant experience drinking experience. Located as it is, it is ideal as a meeting point, but a bit far from the town for a bar crawl stop off.
