The Local, Chiang Mai

The Local is a proudly English bar, situated close to the north east corner of the moat.

The Local has a big tv for live sports, or a nightly film (which takes me back to the bars on Koh Samet!) There is also a pool table, and an excellent menu, with great british food at good value prices.

How can you find it? Well, take the first soi off Moonmuang (it's actually soi 9) if you come from the north east corner of the moat. Head down this narrow soi till you get to the corner (maybe 100 yards in), and the Local is on the right. Alternatively you can reach the Local from the northern edge of the moat.
